Click below to download a pdf of jigs and reels.  Although I've tried to simplify the melodies by using a lot of dotted quarter notes, they're not necessarily intended to be played that way.  The note at the bottom of this page gives a few possibilities for ornamenting dotted quarter notes.

After each eight-bar phrase, there is often a different pickup note depending on whether you're repeating that phrase or going on to the next one. To avoid messing up the sheet music with a lot of first and second endings, I've often just put two pickup notes one on top of the other.  Hopefully you can figure out which pickup note leads back to the repeat and which pickup note leads on to the next phrase.

Note on Ornamentation

Whenever you see a dotted quarter note in a dance tune, it would most likely be ornamented in some way, depending on what musical instrument you're playing.  For example:
